First Year Memorial Service

Event on: 2015-October 17th 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Abel Desalegn FoundationsTo all our family and friends,

A first year memorial service for our beloved son, brother and friend Abel Desalegn Fisseha is scheduled for Saturday (Oct. 17) from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the St. Gabriel Orthodox Church, 2601 Evarts St. NW, Washington DC. Please join us on remembering him and celebrating his life.

First and foremost, I would like to thank “each and every one” of you for your support and prayers for our family over the past twelve very difficult months. It means a lot to us to know how much my brother has “touched” so many lives.

Telling what Abel meant to our family in a few short paragraphs is impossible. I am not even used to him being gone yet. I have been so overwhelmed with emotions so i will not try. Anyone who knew Abel, knew how much he loved his family. He was such a selfless and beautiful person inside and out. I am so incredibly grateful and blessed to have shared this precious life on earth with him as a brother.

Abel was taken way too soon; however, I know he was greeted in Heaven by God and several angels. “Life” is a gift from God. I was extremely blessed to have him as my “baby brother” for 30 precious years. Although, he had a short life, it was so very full and filled with “love and laughter” with so many amazing moments. Abel was loved by everyone! He was such a warm person. He had such a good spirit and a huge heart! He was such an easy person to get along with.

My brother had so many amazing qualities which is what I will miss most! He fancied a very simple lifestyle. It did not take much to make him happy. He had a passion for soccer and gave it all till his last day. He would always be ready to play in a moment’s notice. That was my brother!

“ABEL”, May you go in peace and be with our Lord. Heaven has a new Angel to look after us. You will FOREVER be in our heart and will always be my baby brother. I LOVE YOU!

I rescued the poor who cried for help and the fatherless who had none to assist him.
